The Marqueyssac Gardenslocated in Vézac, 8 km from Sarlat-la-Canéda, are a must for the Black Perigord. With more than 150,000 hundred-year-old box trees pruned by hand, this remarkable garden offers a poetic experience combining nature and history.

Set on a rocky spur 130 m above sea level, the gardens offer spectacular views over the valley, the Castles of Castelnaud and Beynac and the village of La Roque-Gageac.
The art of topiary at the heart of green spaces
Created in the 19th century by Julien de Cerval, the park's layout is based on a network of over 6 km of paths lined with boxwood sculpted into rounded shapes, accompanied by cypresses, pines and cyclamen.

Open all year round, with opening times varying according to the season (9am to 8pm in summer, 10am to 6pm out of season). Guide prices: adults ~ €12-€13, children (aged 10-17) ~ €6, free for under-10s.
